A draft offer for Amanda — for your review
Hi Jonathan and Carrie,
Here's the offer I put together for Amanda, built from everything we talked through. Nothing's final yet — it becomes official only once you've approved it and signed off. Read this as a working draft.
A few things worth a closer look before you decide:
- There are three versions — toggle at the top of the offer. All three cost about the same per year (~$88,000 all-in). What changes is how the money's structured: how much she's paid each month, how much rewards her for staying, and how raises work. Option A is the one we'd point you to, but all three are real offers.
- It's hourly with overtime, not a flat salary. Because Amanda is a live-out employee, the law requires overtime past 40 hours. We've built it so you're covered and there's nothing to untangle later.
- Time off is one combined bank — 20 days. Instead of juggling separate vacation, sick, and holiday counts, it's a single pool she draws from. That includes one standing personal day she keeps each year on the anniversary of her mom's death (October 23) — flagging it now so it's not a surprise.
- Travel is capped so you're never paying around the clock. Her 40 hours stay paid, plus $150 a night away and expenses, with her active hours capped each day. She gets real downtime on trips; you don't get billed 24/7.
- The trial day comes first. All of this hinges on a successful trial the week you're back, before the July 16 start.

Offer contingent on a successful trial day and standard onboarding (background check, references, signed work agreement). W-2 household employee role; the family covers employer payroll taxes and runs pay through a household payroll service. Overtime is figured per workweek for any hours past 40. The set monthly pay is a floor, not a cap.
